Still Color in the Bristolwood

It is not as colorful  as a week ago, but after all the cold, snow, and high winds, it is somewhat surprising there are any leaves on the trees!

We have seen many of these squirrel nests high up in the trees.

We were graced with golden sunshine and bright blue skies today. Even with the sun, though, the air was very “nippy”.  I enjoyed the little wintry blast we had, but it makes me wonder if it is a sign of things to come! We still need just a little more firewood, and we will be set for the winter months ahead.

The birds have been feeding like crazy, too.  With November about to roll around, it really is time to batten down the hatches and soon nestle in for some cold weather!

  1. We were just discussing tonight at dinner that it really does feel more like November than October!! It was downright freezing! I’m still not ready for winter….. Let’s hope we get just a few more days of warm temperatures!! Of course, it doesn’t help that my daughter is calling me from Sunny SAN DIEGO telling me how beautiful the beach is…

  2. Lovely colours indeed.

While you are getting colder, it was 36C [~ 97F] here today. A warm summer on its way. Bleh. I do not like the heat.

  3. Hey K! I’d love to help you with your blog designing….but yours is powered by wordpress and I don’t know a thing about wordpress! I’ll see if I can find out anything and pass it along…..it’s really easy to do it if you use blogger, but I don’t know about wordpress. Hope you guys are havin’ a great Halloween!!

  4. IAN!!!!!! That much heat would cause me to MELT! Just like that wicked witch on the Wizzard of Oz! (funny, it is referred to as “Oz”, isn’t it?) I am so sensitive to hot and don’t do well with it at all!

Thank you, Jeanne! I am SO clueless when it comes to anything with the puter. Takes me forever to catch on….Hey, guess what Mark bought me? A Dell XPS laptop! Yeah, he has had such good experiences with Dell. Our first laptop (still running at 7 or 8 years old) was a Sony Vaio, which he has TAKEN APART a few times! This is the third Dell he has purchased….he really loves them. Has yours been taken care of?
