Random Thanksgiving Day Photos

I usually like to take a nice walk on Thanksgiving Day, but feeling a little miserable, I decided to just stay close to the house.

We had a light dusting of snow, and it made everthing seem to sparkle with a new lustre!

Even frozen grasses in the ditch looked like a pretty new still life….

And, well, my Chrsitmas Cactus seems eager to display itself in its beautiful glory, even though Christmas is still over a month away. That’s okay, because it is just splendid!

  1. I love the Christmas cactus. I always kill them. Can you believe I heard a customer say that the Christmas cacti on display at work were ugly?!?! They are perfectly beautiful Christmas cacti, but I guess this particular customer just doesn’t like them! What’s not to like?

  2. The dust of snow made everything twice as beautiful. I am new to your blog and I love your photos so much. A great respite from the chaotic world I am living right now! 🙂

  3. The snow really gives a different view of things, doesn’t it.

Our Christmas cactus, which always blooms about the week before Christmas looks like it’s going to be a bit early this year. The flower buds are already appearing.

    Look after yourself.

  4. Carly, some people are just grouchy and cross and don’t like anything! hehehe I love those cacti and am happy they grow so well for me!

Grace, welcome to the Bristolwood! Well, you have enticed me to take a peek into your life in the desert! Thank you so much for the compliment!

Ah, Bill, your cactus is being a good one. I was looking through some of my pictures and found that this “weedlike” specimen of mine bloomed a few times…leading me to think it was just an all-around “holiday cactus” that had no greater pleasure in its humble existance than to muster smiles!!
